Bradfield College

For years, Bradfield has been the go-to for sporty, grounded families who want their children to thrive without pressure. Lately, though, something new is stirring: academics have stepped up smartly and there’s a dynamic new head, alongside a renewed focus on individual progress and wellbeing. The school thrums with quiet self-assurance. Wrapped in beautiful Berkshire countryside, this popular co-ed boarding school isn’t flashy or full of itself. The pupils we met were relaxed, funny and articulate – clearly proud of Bradfield but refreshingly unshowy about it. Life here fe...

    Bursaries
Bradfield offers a bursary package of up to 100 per cent means tested fee remission to families who qualify, and is openly proud of the large and often very visible contributions that pupils holding bursaries have made to both the life of the college and the wider community in recent times.

They are aware of the potential difficulties that parents could face in planning for entry to the college, since Bradfield only accepts pupils at Year 9+ (age 13) and as such aims to encourage, support and liaise with potential families over the transition years from the end of traditional primary education in Year 6 through to the end of Year 8. The college aims to give an indication of the likely level of bursarial support early in this process, although they stress that this is not a binding promise.
