Queen’s College, London Announces Exciting Sixth Form Boarding Partnership with DLD College London.
Queen’s College, London is proud to announce a new strategic partnership with DLD College London that will see the introduction of Sixth Form boarding places from September 2027.
This initiative marks a significant milestone in the College’s history, reintroducing a tradition of boarding that dates back many years, while offering a modern, carefully designed experience for a small cohort of students.
Recently recognised as one of the top 100 independent schools in the world by Spears and ranked within the top 55 schools nationally for A Level results in 2025 by The Sunday Times, Queen’s College, London continues to strengthen its position as a leading academic institution for girls in central London.
Under the new arrangement, up to twelve Sixth Form pupils will have the opportunity to board at DLD College London’s award-winning facilities in Waterloo, one of the capital’s most vibrant and well-connected locations. Overlooking iconic landmarks such as the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye, the accommodation offers a unique living experience in the heart of the city.

The partnership will see QCL sub-let a dedicated residential “flat” within DLD College. This self-contained space will include twelve en-suite single study bedrooms, alongside shared living and dining facilities. A resident houseparent will provide pastoral care, ensuring a supportive, structured, and well-supervised environment.
Principal Richard Tillett commented: '
We are delighted to introduce this exciting development. In many ways, this represents a return to our roots, while also embracing a forward-looking vision for our Sixth Form. This partnership allows us to offer something truly distinctive: a world-class academic education combined with a carefully supported boarding experience in central London.'
The initiative positions Queen’s College, London as the only single-sex school in central London to offer a boarding option, creating a unique opportunity for both UK and international families. While QCL will remain proudly girls-only, boarders will benefit from the co-educational environment at DLD College during evenings and weekends, fostering social development in a structured setting.
The College has secured visa sponsorship rights from the UK Home Office, enabling it to welcome up to twelve international students as part of this programme.
This carefully scaled introduction ensures that boarding students will integrate seamlessly into the existing Sixth Form, enriching the community through increased diversity and academic ambition without disrupting its close-knit character.
Applications will focus on students currently in Year 10 (2025–2026 academic year), with places subject to demand and final cohort recruitment.
Principal Richard Tillett added: '
We believe this opportunity will give students the very best of both worlds: access to an exceptional Queen’s education alongside a supported introduction to independent living, preparing them for university and beyond.'
