RHS Performs with RAF Regiment Band in Musical Picnic in the Park
Royal Hospital School (RHS) in Holbrook, Suffolk, presented a ‘Musical Picnic in the Park’ featuring its Corp of Drums alongside the bands of the Royal Air Force Music Regiment on Sunday 15th June.
The event was a part of RHS’s 2025 Festival of Arts, celebrating music, art, design, literature, and performance across the school community.
Set against the sunny backdrop of the school grounds, the programme celebrated the rich musical and military traditions of the school, honouring music and tradition within the school community.
The first half of the performance featured a beautiful selection of pieces performed by the RAF Band. In the second half, the RHS band joined, starting with the Corps of Drums Display Team. Together, the bands performed a mix of classics and popular music, including songs from Grease and The Lion King.
Ed Allen, Director of Music at RHS, said: '
We are really appreciative of the Band of Royal Air Force Music Regiment for joining us. We are so proud of all our talented musicians in our school, and we are so delighted to have received an invitation from the RAF Band to join them for an experience day next academic year.'

The 2025 Festival of Arts has featured a number of events in June, including a talk from children’s author Ross Welford, an Art, Design, and Media Exhibition, launched at the Jellicoe Design Centre and Gig Night III in the Burns Recital Hall.
