Finborough’s Class of 2025 Sets New Standards in Excellence with Exceptional Performance Across Academic and Technical Pathways

 

At Finborough character driven hard work and dedication have paid off for Year 13 students this year with a set of examination results which represent an increase on previous years, particularly in the top grades.


Overall, in A-levels, the school saw an 8% increase on grades A*-C compared to 2024’s results. The breadth of curriculum supporting bespoke pathways has been strongly affirmed with a 36% increase versus last year for those receiving Merit and Distinction grades in Technical awards, which includes Digital Media, Performing Arts, Personal Training and Sports Coaching.

This has further established the significant appetite for diverse pathways, and the school will be developing these further as the curriculum evolves to provide Finborough students the relevant and inspiring opportunities providing even more gateways to the wealth of future study and career options available to them.

Academic departments also enjoyed highly impressive results, with 80% of students achieving A*-C in English Literature and 100% in computer science. The school has seen significant increases in the number of students achieving higher grades than previous years, most significantly against 2024, A*-C grades have increased in a number of subjects, such as +40% in Biology, +13% in Business Studies, +32% in Chemistry, +31% in Economics, +30% in Geography, +13% in Maths and +15% in Psychology.

The school’s highest achiever this year is Kevin with a staggering collection of A*A*AA an outstanding set of results enabling him to take up his university place at the highly regarded UCL to read Natural Sciences.

Speaking after opening his exceptional results Kevin stated that the support from teachers was a major factor in his success.

Notable successes, with incredible outcomes in Performing Arts and Digital Media particularly, are Yasmin and Victoria both achieving the top Distinction * grades and demonstrating the magical combination of talent and hard work. The stars of numerous productions, Finborough is super proud of this amazing final bow.

Following discovering her results Yasmin reflected on the incredible support and attention to detail of her teachers and how she has been encouraged at every step to be better and better.

Angus, who secured a very impressive AAA and has secured a place at Bristol University to study Biochemistry. Angus also reflected on the incredible support from his teacher. Each of his subject teacher’s commitment to him made a big difference.

The majority of students receiving results today have enjoyed their Preparatory, Senior and Sixth Form education at Finborough. The school is proud of the brilliant adults who have emerged with characters that will drive their success as the exciting next chapter of their lives begins. To see confident and commanding young adults, who have grown from little children, now ready to take on the world demonstrates how Finborough School can transform and support each and every young person.


Finborough has also enjoyed an international reach with Myles achieving a prestigious full scholarship to study Exercise Science at Lindenwood University, Michigan, USA.

The schools’ deeply inclusive approach is demonstrated by an exceptional increase in achievement in technical / vocational. This is particularly exemplified by Performing Arts and Sport further establishing Finborough as the leading school in the region with respect to facilities, teaching, achievement and opportunities in these areas.

Finborough students have demonstrated the link between consistent hard work and excellent progress securing great results and the achievement of their university and degree apprenticeship places. From medical and Russell Group destinations to prestigious industry placements and a US Sports Scholarship, aspirations have been realised on a significant scale.
