Finborough School Celebrates Outstanding GCSE Results
Finborough School is proud to announce a remarkable set of GCSE results this summer, marking a significant milestone in the academic journey of its pupils.
The number of students achieving top grades (9 to 7) has more than doubled compared to last year, reflecting the school’s continued commitment to academic excellence and personal development.
This year also sees the largest ever transition of GCSE pupils continuing their studies at Finborough’s Sixth Form, a testament to the school’s nurturing environment and the confidence families place in its holistic approach to education. This follows last week’s exceptional A-level and technical award results, further reinforcing Finborough’s reputation for delivering high-quality outcomes across all stages of secondary education.
Pupils celebrated outstanding subject results, with 59% of pupils achieving grades 9 to 7 in history, 55% in psychology, 50% in French, and strong performances across the sciences—particularly biology, echoing recent A-level success. Among the standout individual achievers were Nkenna, Florence, Sophia, Joshua, Daisy and Nathanial. These results reflect the strength of Finborough’s academic departments and the dedication of its teaching staff.
Headteacher Mr. Steven Clark commented: '
I am profoundly moved by this set of results which represent on the surface a very significant increase in achievement and progress at Finborough, but most importantly reflect the inspiring hard work and dedication of our wonderful pupils and their teachers. The aspirational learning culture this group of young people have demonstrated has been amplified thorough the injection of challenge and vigour we have enjoyed becoming part of the Forfar ÍÑ¿ã°É group. It is brilliant that so many of our students are remaining with us at our Sixth Form. This inspiring group of young people are the vanguard of character driven success and I could not be more proud of them.'
Mrs. Jo Storey, Director of ÍÑ¿ã°É for Forfar ÍÑ¿ã°É, commented, '
I want to recognise every student who collected their GCSE results today. Achieving this milestone especially after the many macro and micro challenges of recent years demonstrates remarkable persistence and character. On behalf of our entire education community, I wish each student continued growth and happiness as they take the next steps in their journey. Their achievements inspire us all.'
Finborough School continues to provide an enriching educational experience that prepares pupils not just for exams, but for life beyond the classroom.
