Hard Work Rewarded on GCSE Results Day at Bancroft’s
It was a proud morning at Bancroft’s as pupils in the Fifth Form (Year 11) received their GCSE results. An impressive 87% of grades were awarded at 9 to 7, with 70% at 9 or 8 and 42% at the very top grade 9.
Almost a quarter of the year group achieved a complete set of grades at 9 or 8. Behind these figures lie months of steady work supported by teachers, families and friends. Pupils combined revision with rehearsals, matches, concerts and community projects, showing that academic success can go hand in hand with a full and varied school life.
Alex Frazer, Head of Bancroft’s, praised the cohort:
'I feel very proud of all our pupils who are collecting their GCSE results today. They have worked hard, set their sights high and been thoroughly rewarded for their determination. They have laid excellent foundations for their Sixth Form studies. My thanks to all my colleagues who have put so much energy and expertise into teaching and encouraging the pupils.'
There was also success for pupils in the Upper Fourth (Year 10). Of the 52 who sat Mathematics a year early, 96% were awarded grade 9. Their achievement is warmly celebrated alongside today’s results.
Attention now turns to the Sixth Form. Students will build on these foundations, taking on new opportunities and challenges.
