Collège Français Bilingue de Londres rated Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted
CFBL has been awarded the highest possible rating of Outstanding in every category by Ofsted, following its inspection from 16 to 18 September 2025
This places CFBL among only 14 per cent of schools in the UK to have achieved Ofsted’s top grade, recognising the school’s excellence in bilingual education and its commitment to nurturing confident, curious and caring learners.The Ofsted report praises CFBL’s “first-class opportunities for learning” and its “distinctive bilingual character”.
Inspectors found that pupils’ behaviour and attitudes are exemplary, highlighting how pupils “delight in the high-quality curriculum” and “They are extremely considerate of others and celebrate difference”. The school’s bilingual approach, combining the strengths of the French and English education systems, ensures pupils achieve exceptional fluency in both languages while developing a broad understanding of different cultures and values. This prepares them to succeed in whichever education system they choose to follow next.
Inspectors also commended the strength of CFBL’s leadership and governance, noting that trustees both challenge and support the school effectively to ensure it continues to meet all independent school standards. They praised the attention given to staff well-being and the school’s culture of safeguarding, which places pupils’ interests at its heart.
Founded in 2011 in Kentish Town, North London, CFBL welcomes around 700 pupils aged 3 to 16. The school offers a bilingual French/English education accredited by both French and British authorities, enabling pupils to thrive in an international environment and become open-minded, responsible citizens.
