Junior Music Showcase Magic
It was a truly magical evening at the Junior Music Showcase, where twenty-six young musicians, spanning Year One through to Year Eight, filled the room with talent, confidence and enthusiasm. The sheer breadth of the musical programme was a highlight of the night. From the wide range of pieces performed on instruments including the piano, cello, violin, flute and guitar, to the excellent performances from the vocalists, the showcase demonstrated the depth of talent across the Junior School.
Each performer demonstrated impressive skill, dedication and professionalism for their age. Most importantly, it was abundantly clear how much they enjoyed making music. The evening was a fantastic success, underscoring the passion and hard work of all the young musicians involved.
House Swimming Gala: A Splash of Success for Parker!
All the girls who took part in the House Swimming Gala had a fantastic time representing their House, culminating in some impressive results and a memorable display of effort and sportsmanship.
It was rewarding to see the progress of all competitors, from our 'lifers' who started swimming in Year 1 to the newcomers assessed just this week. The enthusiasm was clear, particularly from pupils like Ebi, who showed Kings’pirational spirit for Crick by tackling the challenging butterfly stroke when no one else in her House could! Her performance embodied the spirit of "Do everything with a smile, even when it’s hard!"
Congratulations to Parker and Whiston who came joint first in the girls' event. When combined with the boys' results, Parker secured the overall first place! We look forward to seeing how the Houses fare in the Year 3-6 and Senior School swimming galas later in the academic year.
Cross Country at Cobham
Our pupils displayed incredible grit and determination at the Cobham Hall Cross Country competition, where four teams competed across the U11 and U13 boys and girls categories.
The competition saw our pupils tackling a particularly tough course, which truly tested their resilience. Despite the challenging conditions, all the pupils ran extremely well, embodying the spirit of cross country running.
We had some excellent individual results, with several pupils placing highly among large fields of competitors:
- Benedict B had a phenomenal race, finishing 5th out of 120 runners in the U13 Boys race.
- Annabelle G showcased great potential, finishing 12th out of 125 runners in the U13 Girls race, despite competing as a Year 7 pupil.
- Jack O achieved a strong finish, coming 17th out of 119 runners in the U11 race.
These achievements are a credit to the pupils' hard work and competitive spirit.
