A-Level Discovery Workshops

Frensham Heights School Announces A-Level Discovery Workshops, Inviting Students to Explore Their Next Steps Frensham Heights has launched a new programme of A-Level Discovery Workshops, offering students in Years 10 and 11 the chance to experience Sixth Form learning first-hand and explore potential A-Level subjects in an open, supportive environment.

These afternoon workshops, running throughout the academic year, provide an authentic insight into life at Frensham Heights, a school known for its distinctive ethos of individuality, mutual respect, and creative freedom.

'At Frensham, we believe young people make their best decisions when they are encouraged to explore,' said Sara Acworth, Director of Marketing and Admissions. 'Our Discovery Workshops give students the space to step into new subjects, meet our teachers and discover where their interests might lead.'

A Broad Programme of Workshops

The programme includes academic, creative, scientific and performing arts subjects, reflecting Frensham’s commitment to valuing every discipline equally. Sessions include:

  • Psychology & Politics - 27th January 2026
  • PE - 2nd February 2026
  • Biology, Chemistry & Physics - 3rd March 2026
  • French, Spanish & English Literature - 26th March 2026
  • Drama - 28th March 2026
  • Dance - 18th May 2026
  • 3D Design – 18th May 2026

Each workshop offers a practical, hands-on introduction to the subject, enabling students to experience Frensham’s approach to learning: relaxed yet purposeful, with an emphasis on curiosity, independence and personal growth.

An Authentic Experience of Sixth Form Life

Students attending the workshops will have the chance to work directly with teachers, use specialist facilities and gain a genuine sense of the school’s atmosphere. The sessions also provide an opportunity to explore the campus and meet future peers, helping them make informed decisions about their A-Level choices.

'We want our Sixth Formers to be happy and confident young people when they leave our care; a key part of that is making sure they make an informed choice with their A-level choices and their future pathways,'
said Charlie Bennett, Head of Sixth Form. 'The Discovery Sessions provide an excellent chance to try before they commit.'
